Personalised gifts
Last updated: · Links and ratings checked 16 October 2026
Personalised gifts can be lovely or naff. The difference is usually whether the item is useful in its own right. We’ve picked personalised items that people wear, use or read with, many with hundreds of ratings on notonthehighstreet when we checked.
Order early
Made-to-order items need production time before they’re posted. Check each seller’s Christmas cut-off, and see UK delivery dates for carrier deadlines.
Keep it simple
A name, an initial or a short date usually looks better than a long message. Double-check spelling before you order, as personalised items often can’t be returned.
Personalised gifts we avoided
We left out personalised items whose main appeal is a joke that wears off quickly, such as a face printed on a novelty item. Instead we favoured things with a use: jewellery, bookmarks, garden tools, a football-club print and a puzzle gift. Reviews for personalised items often comment on the seller’s communication and accuracy, so read a few before ordering.
